I learned that a person should try to resolve matters through a peaceful method and not through violence. And , if we try to use violence to resolve matters, we may be like zidane getting the red card : going to jail : .I think that it is not fair for zidane to shoulder the blame for France as it is their lousy skill at penalty that causes them to lose. Although the sending out of the captain , Zidane, may decrease their morale, I think that even with lower morale, skills can cover up the loop holes and France may still has a chance to win. There is a similar situation that happens to me in recent years, whereby a gang of students resolve their matters through usage of violence against each other and both gang were arrested by the police for illegal gathering and rioting... This teaches me a very important idea in life which is " Violence are for people who doesn't use their brain, those who use their brain would never take violence at all."

Leong Seng Explaination of Bullying

Bullying, one of the most common crime that is happening at our age. What causes bullying to happen even in a democratic country, whereby everyone is equal and given a right, like Singapore? The question will be answered in this essay but firstly let me explain the meaning of bullying. Bullying is to threaten, hurt, or frighten someone especially smaller or weaker or to put pressure on someone to do things for you.

One of the reasons why people bully is that they are lack of secure and they think that the only way to get ‘secured’ is to bully other people before they bully you and thus, they will start to gather in a small group and start to order people around to make the people around feel frighten of them and therefore, will not bully them. Once I read a newspaper report about a gang of students, about 10, having of both males and females stripped a girl’s, Ah Yu, top off at school and take photos of her being topless at school as to take revenge for one of the girl in the gang.

Another reason might be that they are being bullied at home or at a younger age, and thus they think that if that works on them then it will work on others and thus, they will start to order people around by threatening them with violence. For example Ah Long who is regularly being bullied at home by his father, Ah Hong, who threatens him with his fist, is using the same technique on other students to do his homework or give him their lunch money.

Lastly, the pressuring of their friends may cause people to join their friends to bully others, as they want to be in the so-called ‘in’ crowd and to prevent from others to bullying them. In one of the news a very bright boy , Thomas, who had all the A’s he wanted was caught at Jalan Merah for participating in a gang fight. When asked why he join the gang fight, he answered that it is due to the pressurizing of his friends by calling him chicken if he doesn’t shows up.

In conclusion I think that bullying is not the way to settle the problems , instead it adds more problems to you. And so I encourage all the readers not to use the act of bullying to show who’s boss, instead you could use better ways like doing well in your exams.
